NAZARENE MISSIONS INTERNATIONAL (NMI)

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations

Matthew 28:19

The purpose of NMI (Nazarene Missions International) shall be to mobilize the Church of the Nazarene in missions through:

praying
giving
educating, and
engaging children and youth

NMI is a direct line for missions in the local church and has often been described as “the face of mission in the local church.” In every sense of the word, NMI is the denomination’s organizational representative, dedicated to the cause of world evangelization. While other departments also support missions, it is the distinctive task of NMI to bring each mission area into the local church in such a vital way that every Nazarene will be glad to be a part of global outreach, spreading the good news of full salvation (holiness) to the ends of the earth. NMI provides the infrastructure, the spiritual dynamic vehicle, whereby the local church is mobilized in mission.

WAYS TO CARE FOR MISSIONARIES
How can we care for our missionaries?

Here are a few ideas that you can do to help in a missionary’s work.

Prayer… an obvious one...
This one is a no brainer. Keep their names in front of your church family as a reminder to pray for them!

Communicate with them!
Communication is important to missionaries in more ways than we know. With today’s advances in technology, it doesn’t take much to send an encouraging note. Here are a few ways you and your church family can communicate.
 • Send letters and emails to the missionaries with updates about your church and district. Ask them questions about things other than ministry, like children, grandchildren, pets, When the missionary responds, READ their response to your congregation!
 • Send anniversary and birthday cards/gifts, not just to the missionaries but their family too!

Care for their children
Children of missionaries are just as much a part of the mission field as their parents, both those living with them and those that are away, like college students. Here are a few ways to care for them. • Send care packages-especially college students or kids at boarding school. • Have the kids in your church send letters or set up a video call with the missionary’s kids.

ETERNAL IMPACT

INVESTING THROUGH FAITH PROMISE GIVING

Missions are a big part of the DNA of Anderson First Church of the Nazarene. It's who we are. Over the years, AFC has been active in supporting missions both globally and right in our own neighborhood. Several have been called to the mission field from AFC as well.

Each year, AFC sets aside a Sunday devoted to missions. This is called Faith Promise Sunday. Faith Promise Sunday is a time to hear from the mission field. It is also a time to remind us of how important what we give above and beyond our regular tithes and offerings.

Take some time to pray and listen to what God is asking you to give.

Encourage our active missionaries

Abby is a member of AFC who has been called to the mission field.
